What is the My Thoughts Team Programme?
This programme will help you teach children about negative thinking over 14 structured sessions. Please note this is the workbook and educator guidance only and doesn't currently include lesson plans (we will be adding these in the near future, which will appear in your account so do make sure you create one!).
Children will learn that thoughts aren't necessarily true, discover the CBT model to help them understand how their thinking impacts their emotions and how we can manage thinking to find more helpful emotional states that nurture wellbeing.
With our creative thought character concept (Protected by Copyright © Ink and Scribbles), children will learn about their mind, empowering them to understand that they have a lot of control over how they think and what they feel.
3 of the 7 characters in the pack represent the prefrontal cortex, the logical part of the brain. The others represent cognitive distortions. The 3 characters representing the prefrontal cortex will help children learn to use this area of the brain to manage automatic, negative thinking through links from each character to a strategy. The strategy activities and worksheets will help children understand how these techniques can be positive and useful.
